Numerical simulation and experimental investigation of peel test specimen using bi-injection molding process" blanking process

International audienceInjection moulding is the most common modern process of manufacturing thermoplastic parts because of its high productivity and manufacturability to develop various geometries and complex shapes. It's typically used to combine thermoplastics with another thermoplastic or with a elastomer to create colour differences or hard and soft areas respectively. The work presented in this work focuses to optimize the processing conditions for bi-material components in well-defined geometry and functional properties. The rheo-kinetic behaviors of silicone elastomers using Carreau-Yasuda and Isayev-Deng models with the thermal dependence assumed by an Arrhenius law were identified by the rheological tests. The bi-injection process is simulated through a finite element code (Cadmould® 3D). The simulation results are compared to the experimental ones with good agreements with the experimental results
